Executive Council announces their candidate for Conference Minister |
|

The Executive Council is pleased to announce the Reverend David Gaewski has been selected for the position of Conference Minister of the New York Conference. Election of the candidate will be held at the Annual Meeting in Binghamton, NY on Saturday, June 9, 2012. Reverend David R. Gaewski has served as the conference minister in Maine for the past 15 years. Prior to coming to Maine he served local congregations in Vermont and Northern Virginia for ten years. David holds an M.Div from Andover Newton Theological School and a B.S from the University of Connecticut. He also studied one year of seminary at “Instituto Superior Evangelico de Estudios Teologicos” in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Rev. Gaewski has served as an Adjunct Faculty member of Bangor Theological Seminary for the past 13 years teaching “United Church of Christ Polity” and “The History and Theology of the United Church of Christ”. A Connecticut native, he served as a UCC Associate Missionary in Brazil for three years. He is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. David has many continuing education units in Family Systems Theory, Interim Ministry, and Youth Ministry. During his years in conference ministry he has served on the Board of Directors of Local Church Ministries and the Executive Council. He is currently on the Board of Wider Church Ministries. David is married to Sueli Alves Gaewski, a Brazilian native. Together they have three grown children. He enjoys cooking, science fiction, and his two Cocker Spaniels, George and Gracie.
