How To Begin
The Four Steps to Entering Search
The first step is to reach out to your local Associate Conference Minister (ACM) to let them know you are entering a time of professional transition. Your ACM is your partner throughout this process and can help you navigate every step.

Go to the UCC Ministry Opportunities portal and click the button marked “Request Account: Minister.” You will be prompted for information that will grant you log-in credentials. Authorized UCCNY ministers in good standing will be approved.
Build Your Ministerial Profile
Follow the instructions in the Profile Portal to begin building your profile. You may connect with your local ACM at any time with questions or concerns. Take your time — a strong, complete profile makes a strong first impression.
When your background check has come back, and the rest of your profile is complete, you can send your profile to be validated. This process can take up to a week, depending on the time of year. Once validated, your profile will be in circulation.
Tips For A Strong Profile
- Keep your references timely. References over 3 years old may not be as helpful to search committees.
- Include links to your best sermons. Audio, video, or written — let congregations hear your voice and preaching style.
- Showcase your skills. Include links to other projects or examples of your ministry skill set.
