New York Conference United Church of Christ PALM SUNDAY- Even the Stones will Cry! Even the Stones Palm Sunday 2022 Luke 19:28-40 It was the final two verses of this passage that spoke to me. The jubilant crowd. The Pharisees, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” Shut up! Shut them up! Tell them to shut up! Jesus. If they are quiet, even the stones will cry out! The stones in the video are pictures I took as I walked around where I live – a trip to the post office, a walk to a friend’s house, just normal everyday kind of walks. As I walked I tried to imagine what it would be like if all the stones – around me, under my feet, next to me, above me – began to cry out “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! and “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” The very thought of this boggles my mind – in a rather glorious way!
