Farmworkers March for Justice: Chaplains and Banners
Wednesday, April 27, 2016
Rural Migrant Ministry is planning a march across the state. Beginning on Pentecost (May 15) in Smithtown, Long Island and walking through New York City and then up through the Hudson Valley - arriving in Albany on Wednesday June 1st for Farmworker Albany Day.
Because this is a liturgy as well as a prophetic act, they invite you to consider being a chaplain on this journey. Each day will have roughly three segments and they would like to have someone serve as chaplain for each section. They also have bulletin announcements for the March/Pilgrimage. Finally, they have two banners which they are asking congregations to order and place it in front of their congregations for the duration of this legislative session (until June 20).
