Adult Education Series:
Exploring Race and Racial Justice
A course co-led by the Rev. Dominique Atchison and Briallen Hopper, PhD. This workshop will explore the notions of race, racism and racial justice on a personal, interpersonal, cultural and institutional level. We will engage a range of tools including movies and video clips, discussion, personal storytelling, short readings and breakout sessions with the goal of expanding our understanding of race and deepening our commitments to racial justice at Broadway, in the United Church of Christ, and beyond.

Rev. Dominique Chantell Atchison is the former Sacred Conversations of Race Coordinator for the Connecticut Conference of the UCC (see bio above).
Briallen Hopper is a Lecturer in the Yale English department and the Faculty Fellow at the University Church in Yale. She was previously a Class of 1952 Scholar and Samuel Slie Fellow at Yale Divinity School. She holds a Ph.D. in American literature from Princeton.She has served as a Student Pastor at First Church Congregational in Fairfield, Connecticut, and is a member of Broadway United Church of Christ in New York City. She has preached at Unitarian, Methodist, and Congregational churches in Connecticut and New York.
